Closer economic co-operation was discussed with members of the delegation from the Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce
The purpose of the delegation from the Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce to Debrecen is to co-operate between the twin cities and the two chambers to develop and stimulate the Hungarian-Czech business, economic, cultural and tourism links. Furthermore, the aim of the visit was to discuss the cooperation opportunities between the Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hajdú-Bihar County (HBKIK).
The co-operation between the two chambers was preceded by a cooperation agreement in Brno, which was signed in the framework of the twin city agreement between Debrecen and Brno. There will be a closer cooperation between the two Enterprise Europe Network offices. They will organise joint business meetings, company visits and they will facilitate the creation of entrepreneurial cooperation on third country markets. They proposed the idea of launching direct flights between Brno and Debrecen. Furthermore, they will create a Hungarian-Czech Information Point in the Chamber.
The Czech delegation consisted of Ladislav Chodak the President of the Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce (BRCC), Cenek Absolon, the Director of BRCC, Oto Hrdlicka the Head of the Foreign Affairs Department at BRCC. The Foreign Trade Attaché of Hungary to the Czech Republic István Kolozsvári was invited to the meeting as well. Ferenc Miklóssy the President, Dr. Éva Skultéti, the Secretary General, and Réka Simonyi the Head of the Foreign Affairs Department was present at the meeting from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hajdú-Bihar County.
The delegation visited the Mayor’s office and met with Dr. Lajos Barcsa vice Mayor in the morning, and then they visited the University of Debrecen. The delegation also attended a factory visit at FAG. The intent of the Brno chamber delegation was to get acquainted with the characteristics of the economic life of the town.
